Hydra Custom Coatings — Cerakote Terms & Conditions
Effective: Upon checkout. By placing an order, the customer (“Customer”) acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions
1.1 “HCC” means Hydra Custom Coatings.
1.2 “Service(s)” means surface preparation, Cerakote application, clear coat application, and any related labor performed by HCC.
1.3 “Item(s)” means the goods, part(s), or firearm(s) submitted by the Customer for Services.
2. Acceptance of Terms
2.1 These Terms & Conditions are incorporated into and form part of the contract between HCC and the Customer. Submission of an order and/or payment at checkout constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
3. Estimates and Lead Times
3.1 Any lead times or turnaround estimates provided by HCC are estimates only and are not guaranteed. HCC will make reasonable efforts to meet estimated timelines but is not liable for delays caused by workflow, parts, customer approvals, supplier delays, or events beyond HCC’s control.
4. Surface Preparation & Material Limitations
4.1 Surface preparation may expose existing defects, surface imperfections, or remove factory markings and/or original finishes. HCC is not responsible for pre-existing defects, previously applied finishes, or the loss or alteration of factory stamps/markings that become apparent during prep.
4.2 Customers are encouraged to disclose any known defects or prior repairs prior to submission.
5. Color Selection and Approvals
5.1 Color choice must be finalized and agreed upon at time of checkout. HCC will provide reasonable color matches and samples when available, but slight variations may occur due to batch differences, substrate, and finishing process. HCC is not responsible for perceived color variance once application is complete unless clearly inconsistent with the agreed selection.
6. Barrels and Heat Resistance
6.1 Barrels that are not processed using specified air-cure procedures are not guaranteed to withstand elevated temperatures associated with sustained or extreme use. HCC will notify the Customer if a recommended curing process is required; failure to follow recommendations may affect longevity and performance.
7. Firearm Function, Disassembly & Reassembly
7.1 If HCC does not perform complete disassembly and reassembly of a firearm (i.e., Customer submits the firearm assembled), HCC does not guarantee the firearm’s function after coating.
7.2 Firearms submitted as “builds” or otherwise incomplete are accepted with the understanding that HCC does not warrant operational function unless specified gunsmithing services are contracted and performed by HCC’s qualified personnel.
7.3 Any gunsmithing work performed by HCC will be carried out by qualified technicians; Customer expressly authorizes such disassembly/assembly work where requested.
8. Handgun Sights
8.1 Removal, refitting or reinstallation of handgun sights may result in minor blemishes, scratches, or fitment variation due to the nature of the components. HCC is not responsible for cosmetic or functional blemishes that occur during sight removal or installation unless caused by HCC’s gross negligence.
9. Re-spray / Remedy Criteria
9.1 Defects eligible for re-spray or remedy must be identified and reported at the time of pickup.
9.2 Qualifying defects may include: flaking, chipping attributable to application error, incorrect color application, excessive runs, or drips resulting from HCC workmanship.
9.3 HCC reserves the right to inspect any reported defect and to determine, in its sole discretion, whether a re-spray or other remedy is appropriate. HCC’s decision regarding eligibility for re-spray is final.
10. Additional Labor and Specialty Charges
10.1 Additional labor charges may apply if unforeseen issues arise during disassembly, surface preparation, or reassembly (e.g., seized fasteners, corrosion, repairs required to enable safe disassembly).
10.2 Firearms with tight tolerances or custom configurations (for example, custom 1911 models) that require additional fitting or adjustments after Cerakote application may incur additional labor fees.
10.3 Firearms with pinned, welded, or otherwise permanently affixed muzzle devices that must be removed and reinstalled in accordance with ATF standards will incur increased labor charges to account for the additional work and compliance requirements.
11. Shipping, Storage, and Pickup
11.1 Customer is responsible for retrieving Items within the timeframe specified at pickup. HCC may charge storage fees for Items held beyond a reasonable pickup period. HCC is not responsible for loss or damage to Items left beyond the agreed pickup window except to the extent caused by HCC’s negligence.
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, HCC’s liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the amount actually paid by the Customer for the Services.
12.2 HCC shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of value, or attorney’s fees.
13. Warranty
13.1 HCC warrants that Services will be performed in a workmanlike manner consistent with standard industry practice. Any express warranty terms provided at the time of sale shall be controlling. Except as set forth herein, HCC disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
14. Indemnification
14.1 Customer agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless HCC and its employees, agents, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising out of Customer’s failure to disclose relevant information, misuse of the Item, or modifications performed by third parties.
15. Severability
15.1 If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Governing Law
16.1 These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which HCC operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
